What is Mobile Photography?
Mobile photography is when pictures have been taken from a mobile device, for example an ipod or a phone. The technique of mobile device has really improved throughout the years, this is because technology has slowly been improving and there are more and more ways we can capture life on the spot, without having to carry around a digital camera with them. At the moment there are over 10,000 photo apps, that are free to download. Mobile photography is gradually improving; this is really showing as more and more people are using photo social networking such as 'instagram' and 'tumblr' etc. Also, it is more handy as we don't need to be carrying a heavy camera around all the time as most of the people in this generation has a phone that is able to take a photo. Even though, the quality may not be as good as one taken with a digital camera but we are able to easily take a photo.
Misho Baranovic
Misho Baranovic is a mobile photographer, writer and app developer; also a Australian mobile photographer. He has developed the idea of 'mobile photography' and is really interested in it, moreover allowing and helping people to understand and express their relationships with the surrounding. He has worked on a wide range of projects and has become very successive. Misho is one of the world-leading mobile photographers and has been exhibited in many different places for example, California, Berlin, France etc. He has also recently published his first eBook with 'digital photography school', this book he has written is mainly a guide explaining the effective ways to take a creative photo on the iphone camera, the book name is- iphone photography: how to shoot, edit and share great photos. I think he takes really good photos as he develops the ideas of contrast, shadows and light. Below is a short slideshow of the photos he's taken and also my review on one of my favorite one from this mobile photographer.
Personal Projects.
For my first personal project, i'm basing it on around 'lines'. Even though, it may sound quite boring or easy, it will still look really interesting and effective. There are many different types of lines, for example, thick or thin ones, colorful or dull ones, some may overlap some may look really neat in a row. So even, from these few examples, there are many more ways lines can be taken in a photograph. It could also vary from the different type of places you could take it, stairs, railings, chair legs or even the tiles on the floor. I will use many different surfaces to take my pictures. Lines are a very simple yet cool subject to take, you don't need a digital camera to take it, you can simply use your phone/ipod, and already you have an amazing picture. Moreover, lines could also show emotion, like if the lines were curved and all messy, it could be a sign of happy and positivity, whereas if the lines were straight or bold, it could have more of a strict and stern view to the picture. I hope that in the lesson i'll be able to use my time wisely and take several good photos of my project proposal 'lines'. Below are the images i took with an ipod, some in the buildings whilst some outside.

Evaluation
I think the photos i have taken are quite successful to what i initially wanted to do as my project. I have taken a variety of different images about 'lines'. The angle of the photos are all varied, but most of my pictures are close up, for example; the picture of the concrete floor with the two crossed twigs and the picture of the radiator outside. Moreover, Some of the lines are thick whilst some are thin. I also think that you could clearly see what my subject was and i have thought carefully about the images i took. Next time i could take the images in more different places so i get a larger variety of lines. The effects of the photo are a type of vintage colour, but it wasn't what i initially wanted the effect as, because it came directly on the app that i used.

Pictures i took in the holiday within 'lines'.
In the holidays we were asked to take 10 good quality photos of our chosen theme within our project proposal and then upload them onto our site. I had to choose carefully where and what i wanted to take the photos. Some of them were things in my house whilst some of them were outside in the park. I wanted to have a variety of different lines as it'd look more creative. I tried to take lines of different things. Moreover, as it is Autumn time, nature becomes more beautiful and leaves begin to gather on the floor, so i find this a good time to take nature pictures. I also like close-ups, this is good to my project proposal so you can clearly see what types of lines i insisted on taking. The angle is virtue as well, because photos can be taken in many ways. I really enjoyed this homework and i think i have met the objective of the task. The lighting of the photos are quite light and they give a sense of happiness so the mood isn't dull. However, next time i could edit the photos, so the photos could look more eye-catching with effects.
The photos above, are some that i took with an iPod, using an app called 'Andigraph'. We were asked to take several pictures of lines (straight lines). With this app, it automatically takes photos and makes them into a collage. I chose to make them into a 2x2 grid, but i didn't really like using this app. I took pictures of things inside and out of the building, the first picture is of the concrete floor outside. I like this photo as the lines are clear, moreover the effect of it is a light pinkish colour, and they corresponds nicely with the photo. However, the second two photos are more messy, the second one in particular. The effect of them are a very tropical colour which looks quite weird. Also, the composition of the photos are not really thought carefully of; i picked a place where i found lines and took it several angles, but i don't really like them.
FINAL PIECE AND EVALUATION-
In this project, i explored the idea of mobile photography and the uses of it from our everyday lives. I researched the artist of Misho Baranovic, his images all taken from simply a phone were all very interested as a result of his precise composition and also as a result of the different lines. In todays day, especially in the cities there are so much going on around us that it is hard to stop and contemplate our surroundings. Thus, actually taking pictures in the city may prove challenging especially if it's overcrowded so having a simple portable phone may be most useful in these situations. Currently, there are many apps available all which perform different tricks, such as editing programmes, or cameras with manual effects in order to automatically change our perceptions of images. The variety of effects available are endless, which is what makes mobile photography even more interesting. Sometimes, we may be caught up in having or using good quality cameras in taking photos, but sometimes this may cause us to miss 'the moment' and so with a phone you can simply pull it out and capture instantly.
Following on, I chose a formal element to focus on taking, so i chose lines. Lines are especially effective as they are able to make an image stand out or sometimes lines have the ability to diverge our eyes to another area within the image. So, using a standard iPod, using a 'warm yellow effect', i captured related images around the school which came out successful. One other thing i tried to focus on was the composition of these images, in some it was very hard to capture all elements within this one photo which is why I had to use the tool of cropping when capturing the image. Here, I mainly focussed on large objects with lines such as buildings, railings and stairs. But in the next photoshoot i wanted to develop this by taking images close up, such as of natural elements. i didn't really like how these images came out, since all attention was focussed on that one element but it seemed very boring and pointless. It seemed that none of these images related to each other as all captured different objects. Therefore, I used four images from my first set of images as my final piece, I chose these four as they were the most successful and my aim of lines were clearly seen and the yellow warm effect of these images add to the tone and the overall effect.
